Old Lady??

Post  Talamena on 20.01.12 16:29

I bought my HO yesterday and with some trepidation cooked frozen chicken portions for supper. They were fine! Today I've attempted to make an ordinary rice pudding with mixed results.... it's cooked but has dried out. Perhaps too hot? Could I put water in the glass bowl like a bain-marie?
I'm a great grandma and love cooking but I don't really want lots of posh recipes, just to cook as usual but more economically.
I'm going to attempt oven chips for supper, trying to find out how brought me to this forum!!!
Happy Cooking!

Welcome to the forum Talamena
Old Lady?? I don't believe that Laughing

yes you can put water in the glass bowl like a bain marie to steam pudding. You need to cover the pudding basin with 2 layers of baking parchment and secure them around the rim with a string. Then cover it with foil to make a seal over the paper. Place the pudding bowl in the glass bowl of the halogen oven, pour enough water to reach a third of the way up the side of the pudding bowl.

Hope this helps.
