Hello great site

Post  shaun01 on 18.01.12 14:47

Purchase my new halogen Oven the weekend, no instructions, but straight in with a homemade bread pudding. Well not bad, top a wee black, middle could have done with a little more heat, but then found this Web site. Had a look and read the informative posts, especially about using the extension ring, I was wondering what it was for, well what a difference it made. Brilliant way to cook, but like some others have said there is some hype written about these ovens, one should remember it does not fully replace the great microwave. Today cooked some gammon steaks they tasted wonderful. Not sure about two level cooking yet, but I am very pleased with the oven and still getting use to heat setting, overall well pleased.

What a treasure chest of knowledge here on this site.

I am not a serious cook, but what I do cook I like to cook well. Before I used a combination oven now I just take the cooking times from that oven has a starting point. Already finding I need to reduce those times, but the food well it's so much better in my new Halogen Oven. This morning I thought I do my morning oats in the HO. What a wacky idea, yes it can be done, but an example where the microwave becomes first choice.

Cooked a bread and butter pudding again this morning turn the heat down to 150, (Thought it was low) cooked it on the high rake with extension in place for 35 mins, wonderful. Cooked right through.

The HO may not be the solution too all cooking but I would say I will be using it for 75% of my cooking needs. So all those who are finding problems stay the course and take an hour or so to research this wonderful sit, because the answers are all here.
