Just about to buy a HO!

Post  tomtom on 14.01.12 14:31

Hi, I'm Tom and I'm from South Manchester.

I joined this forum a year ago. Missed out on Aldi's HO offer, so there was no point even saying 'hello'. I'm determined to get down to my nearest store tomorrow at 10 to make sure I get an oven this time.

I have some simple recipes which are to add to anything cooked in a HO - Chinese Black Bean Sauce and Home Made Savoury rice are just two. Is there a section for posting generic/non-HO recipes?

Hi Tom,

yes, you joined on the 13 Jan 2011.

I am glad you have decided to talk to us. Laughing

We don't have a section for non-HO recipes here BUT I have reserved a space (forum)to start one.

In your opinion, do you think people will join and share a few recipes?

Make sure to check the contents of your HO box tomorrow. Someone on this forum bought his from Costco and the extender ring was missing.

Thanks.

Is the Aldi model the same as the one from Costco? I looked at Aldi's website and it said it came with an extender ring. I'll make sure before I buy.

I have no idea. I do think a recipe to make 400-450g of home-made black bean sauce (with a 20% bean content - far higher than any supermarket brand)for about 30p-40p, might prove popular. Laughing

Edit - I have just noticed you have your 'very own professional chef'. That's intimidating. I now regret suggesting the idea.

Hi tomtom

I got the Aldi one last year and, touch wood, have had no trouble with it.

Our pro chef hasn't managed to contribute to the forum for some time and the rest of us are just amateurs so please don't be intimidated Very Happy

Yaaay! Got one. About 25-30 were in stock. Three people ahead of me in the queue who were all together and chatting away before the store opened (related?) bought two each. That seems a bit unfair.

It does come with all the bits and pieces needed - from extender ring to tongs.

Hello,
I have just bought a 12lt Delta halogen oven from my local Aldi, £29:99 with a 3 year guarantee.
So I am looking forward to learning how to use it.
