Roast Chicken (with Extender Ring) & Using Frozen Roasties

Post  Fenclare on 12.01.12 9:27

Me again Smile I've just bought some HO cookbooks and they all suggest turning a whole chicken over when roasting. However I get the impression that they are not using an extender ring.
Will an ER save me the bother of turning a whole chicken (lazy or what!)

Also, I have some frozen Roasties (in goose fat) left over from Christmas will I have to cook these separately from the Chicken? Thank goodness for
Iceland i
n Spain!!

Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris

Sorry but you still need to turn the chicken over halfway or it won't cook through properly.

If you have room cook the roasties on the same rack as the chicken - give them at least fan oven cooking time - you can always raise them onto the top, after you take the chicken out and it is resting, if they still need browned up a bit.
