New to the Halogen oven!
Hello,
My halogen oven arrived at Christmas and it has taken me this long to pluck up the courage to try it!
The toast was great but the pineapple upside down cake, a huge step from toast I know but the cookbook said it was not difficult.
Anyway it cooked on the top but when I turned it out it was not cooked in the centre.
What did I do wrong?
I have an Andrew James oven and I preheated to 180ish, the temperature increments are not that clear so it may have been just over 180.
Is it a case of keep trying because I don't want to feel too downhearted!
I look forward to sharing the ups and downs of this amazing cooking method.

Hi Alexfan,
(Is it a case of keep trying because I don't want to feel too downhearted!)This is exactly how it is when you are a new HO user. Experiment a few times and you will get it right for you.
Not cooking in the centre is an issue with cakes and other baking. Here's a few tips: preheat your oven, cook on high rack with extender ring on top. Reduce the given temp and cook for longer if needed.
We are happy to see you on board.
