Hi and help me with my beef please!

Post  Markcole on 03.01.12 15:04

Happy New Year to everyone.

I bought a large HO and love it but I'm still new to this game so I need some tips, please!

I'm just about to roast a joint of beef and need to know how long to cook it for. It's a Topside beef 2.040 kg in weight. I prefer slight rare beef - not well done.

Help!!!

Reeta, Thank you Smile

I did look there first but couldn't see anything for basic roast beef. I cooking it as we speak and working on the premise that 'under cooked can always be rectified but overcooked means the dogs eat well' lol.

So far I have done the following:
Sprinkled liberally with rosemary, salt and cracked black pepper. Roast at 170 degs C for 50 mins - in foil. I have just taken it out and cut it in half and its still raw inside - so I've recovered it and its gone back in at 180 degs C for 30 mins...
