Bowl broken

Post  Toddy123 on 25.10.09 15:42

The glass bowl in my JML halogen oven broke in use, Sad I only had it for 2 weeks and I really like it. Very Happy I rang JML up and they told me that they were out of stock of glass bowls (does this mean they crack all the time)? Anyway they are getting some in next week and sending me a new bowl. To be fair they did offer to take the whole oven back and send me another one. cowd

I think if they cracked all of the time then we would hear a lot more about it. Lets hope its an isolated incident.
Being heavy I try not to handle mine to much especially when wet it gets a bit of a job to handle.
I have seen replacement bowls for £9.99.

Nice to hear you got a no quibble relacement. lets hope you receive it soon.

Broken Glass Bowl

Post  non-emmet on 08.11.09 7:55

Hi everyone,

I have done quite a bit of reading up on the Halogen Ovens, and find that when these bowls are washed they should be completely dried before you commence cooking again, also you should wait until the bowl is cold before adding the cold water to start the washing process, as either of these things could crack the bowl.

Hi and welcome to the forum

welcome

I take it the glass didn't melt but it melted the plastic base? I've never came across that one before. You don't say what was happening in your oven when the glass cracked?

You must be very unlucky indeed to have both problems. Sad

Don't be frightened to use your new oven - you know what they say about third time lucky.

Good Luck
