1 Cleaning Halogen Oven lid on 7/12/2011, 15:22

After nearly two years of constant use, the lid of my Halogen oven, and the metal light guard, have burned-on brown spots, although I wipe it over every time I use it. I've tried Cif Cream and Barkeepers Friends but they don't touch it. Is there any way of cleaning it, or does one just accept that this happens?

Hi Mo,
never mind about a few brown spots, just be happy it's still working after 2 years happy-dancing

Just accept this Mo. If you scrub too hard it could shake and damage the element.

You could try rubbing very gently with a damp brillo pad while the lid is still warm. but be very careful not to get water inside.

Hi Mo,

please do not use metal brillo pad to clean your halogen oven. Pieces may break off the pad and touch electrical parts, causing damage or risk of electric shock when you turn it on.

Thanks for the warning Reeta, I'll certainly heed it.
