Rice Pudding

Post  Thinlizzy on 01.01.10 15:39

Hi, I'm new to Halogen Oven cooking and also this site. Got an oven for Christmas and decided yesterday to try making a rice pudding in it. I used a square casserole dish and all was fine except I'd like to warn people not to fill your dish higher than say 3/4 full as when you switch on the milk swirls around like nothing on earth! I was ok as my dish was only 3/4 full but it would have been a bit of a dissaster had the milk been nearer the top! Pud was great tho', just used my usual recipe and put it on the 150 degree setting for two hours, lifted the lid off from time to time to give the rice a stir and scrape the nutmeg from around the bowl and mix in. feedme

Overfilling dishes

Post  wimplebum on 01.01.10 20:56

Hi thinlizzy,

I found similar when making muffins - they overflow the dishes and drip if you overfill them. Not thought about rice pudding though. Many thanks for the warning.
