firstimer here

Post  macmac on 05.10.11 18:15

Hi I used my HO for the first time today, just chicken legs and roast potatoes and I'm very impressed. Smile
I'm pleased to have found this splendid forum as it really helps to have real people offering real advice.
One question does it really cook quicker Question
I actually bought it to save energy as fuel bills rocket for us all.
I'm sure I'll be picking many brains in the coming weeks so thank you in advance

Hi macmac welcome

I'm glad you got off to a good start and pleased that you have joined us.

In answer to your question - ignore the manufacturers fanciful claims about cooking times. It does cook quicker but not by such a huge margin. It is also much smaller to heat than your 'big' oven so it will save on energy.

Think of it as a small and efficient fan oven and you won't go far wrong.

Thanks Junie (my favourite friend down the allotment is called June )
I thought it wouldn't be quicker, but assumed the saving would come with the size.
The cleaning is fab so it's so far so good Smile
Thanks*
