Chicken stock

Post  Clydesdale on 20.09.11 18:27

Hi all,
Colder days on the way and I usually make quite a lot of home-made soups. Has anyone tried making stock in the HO using a chicken carcass, veggies etc.? I have done on on the hob today, but would much rather make it in the HO if it is possible.

Many thanks, Helen.

Hi Helen

You will be much quicker making it on your hob. When ingredients are added directly to the HO bowl, the heat can't circulate and the stock would take forever to get to the boil.

Thank you June - that's a pity but can see what you mean. I will continue to do it on the hob. I am enjoying experimenting with the HO though at every opportunity and I am sure it will pay for itself very quickly instead of using an electric oven Smile
