Another convert

Post  Chris R on 21.07.11 16:05

Hi just taken delivery of my HO. Tried to cook a chicken ...not good, but not daunted! Will try comfort food tonight, we are also motorhomers and the advantages of the HO are, using the electricity we have already paid for. I want to master all aspects of my oven as I enjoy cooking! Chris R

Hi Chris,

take a look at the recipes section for chicken and try to follow the instruction next time. There's a good one posted by June.

Reading the previous posts will help you to get a better insight into various aspects of your oven.

Glad you've joined us Chris.

Welcome Chris

I use mine in my touring caravan for the same reason. Have a good read when you have the time and you'll soon be a halogenious.

Thank you June and Reeta for the welcome and encouragement, I am checking recipies hints and tips all the time now.
I have been busy with my HO, and can report success with quiet a few meals, the cheese cobbler on top of my beef caserole was excellent! as were the biscuits.
Mr R has devised a method for great toast!
Chris.

Welcome from another motorhomer Welcome

My husband does jacket potatoes in ours. Just prick them all over with a fork, pour a drop of cooking oil in the palm of one hand and roll the potato round in it. Set it on the low rack and cook at 200° until nice and crisp, between 40 to 60 minutes depending on size of potato. Turn the potatoes half way through and then the skin will be crisp all over. When cooked, let your adventurous side take over with the choice of fillings.
End result ..... one happy husband who thinks he is a top notch chef, no dirty pans and, as you say, no cost as the electric hookup has already been paid for.

Talk about a win win situation. 7up

Thank you Maggie, we will try the Jackets tomorrow, it was a motorhomer on holiday last year that recommended the HO, I'm glad she did.
