With all due respect.

Post  SilverfoxV8 on 28.04.11 17:25

It's now an hour and a half at 250 with the beef stew. I keep turning as it browns in places. The entire bowl is still cool to the touch & nothing sizzles! I am at this stage, fairly disappointed...my pressure cooker runs rings around this! Consider the cost of 1200 watts @ X hours, compared to my cooker on gas! Doesn't come close. I think I'll gift this one to my daughter!

I am of the opinion, that my age old method of cooking is still far superior!!

I am of course, always open to correction Wink

Being new to the HO, I was expecting quick results. Anyway, it turned out pretty good & I learnt a few things NOT to do next time.

Hi SilverfoxV8,

Your first HO meal wasn't a success Sad but that's no reason to give up just yet No

If you read some of the previous posts you will find other people have gone through the same experiences for their first try.

Stew is best cooked in a casserole dish placed on the low rack to allow hot air to circulate all around it.

Check out this recipe here to give you a guide http://halogenovenrecipes.forumotion.com/download.forum?id=3

Good Luck
