Cooking times and weights for roast

Post  oszigirl on 17.03.11 23:30

Hi my nam is oszigirl and i'm from Western Australia. I have just bought a halogen convection oven and was wondering if anyone know how long it will take to cook a roast pork and the temp to put it on. I did not get a cook book with the oven when i bought it.

Hi Maxcooky

You will find these in the Halogen Oven Manuals and Instruction Leaflets section.

If you type 'roast' into the search you will also find all other posts on the subject which will help you with all roast meats.

It is difficult to be definitive as we have found that ovens can vary. Temperature of meats when starting can vary and desired level of 'doneness' also vary. Have a good read when you get a chance as there is plenty already on here to point you in the right direction. Very Happy

Thanks a lot for your quick reply June I'll try the recommended times in the manual (which is not very comprehensive) & see if we get a tasty meal tonight??

cheers Maxcooky

Hi Maxcooky - if you 'manual' is like most it'll be overly optimistic with the cooking times - think fan oven, lower the temperature by 10-20C and cooking time just a little quicker and you'll be closer.
Good Luck
