Confused Newbie!

Post  grannysplat on 14.03.11 19:35

Hello everyone. Have read lots of advice in the last two weeks since buying my over. First attemp yesterday - roast chicken with roasties - successful. But, still very cautious about further cooking! Can you use a cast iron casserole dish?

Hi Grannysplat,

Welcome

Yes you can use a cast iron casserole dish. You can use anything in your HO that is safe in your ' big ' oven. I'm glad your first attempt was successful.

When you have time, have a good read around the previous posts and recipes. You'll soon be cooking with confidence. Very Happy

hi there I have just bought a halogen oven. I was a bit cautious at first and left it standing on my worktop. Eventually I decided to give it a go. I cooked a chicken mmmmm delicious, then I made yorkshire puddings they rose to the occasion and never shrank when I took them out of the oven. I have since made scones and small chocolate puddings, cooked bacon, sausages and lovely roast potatoes. To anyone not sure about using a halogen I say give it a go. Mine will be always ready on my worktop.

Mine is still in a cupboard! I plan to find space on the worktop tonight! Sausages tomorrow with a bit of luck!
