HOW TO COOK CAKES

Post  andrealeila on 25.02.11 6:11

Hi, I am Italian and new of this forum. In Italy I can't find information about this oven. Maybe it is little known. I just want to know how to cook cakes.
1) do I put the cake dough in a cake mold steel with 24 cm diameter (9.45 inch?) covered with perforeted alluminium foil?
2) do I put the cake only on a baking paper and on the low rack with ring?
3) what is the time and the temperature for cooking a simple cake who must also rise?
4) it's better to use little mouds (es.: for muffin) than bigger?
5) do I must use always the ring?
Sorry for my simple english. I also use bing translator!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot. ILARIA.

Hi Ilaria

Welcome

There are many cake recipes in the A-Z section of the forum with full instructions.
Use any tin that you use in your 'big' oven, preheat the oven and yes, use the extender ring when baking. I hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your tips. Yesterday I made muffin light with chocolate. They was wonderful. I put the dough into paper bun cases on the low rack. On the high rack I put an alluminion paper. For 10 minutes I cooked like this, then I took the alluminion paper off and I cooked for 6 minutes, always at 180°.

120 gr sugar
150 gr flower
30 gr cacao
1 teaspoon of bicarbonate
8 gr of baking powder
80 ml seed oil (corn)
80 ml light yogurt
100 ml light milk
vanilla

My husband and my son Andrea, 7 years old, appreciated them. Ilaria.
