Frozen roast potatoes

Post  mushypea on 18.02.11 15:19

I\'m new here

Hi there, just joined the forum and just got my oven. Any ideas on how or if you can add frozen roast potatoes to a roast chicken in the oven?

Hi Mushypea

welcome

Just pop your frozen roasties on the rack around the chicken. Turn them to ensure they are cooked through. If there is space between them to let the air circulate, just follow the instructions for fan oven cooking. If they are heaped together allow a longer cooking time and turn a few times.

Thank you June, they came out fine. Same can't be said for the roast chicken!!! 1.6kg,180 for 1hr 20mins, 30 mins was breast side down. Was a bit tough and still a little bloody against the bone. Will try 200 and use the extender ring next time.

That should do the trick - have a look at my chicken recipe - link below - it never fails for me, the meat is really moist.
